Tri2Remember -- Laurel Park Gainesville, GA Sprint Triathlon 400 yd swim 13 mile bike 5k run http://gamultisports.com/
We traveled to Gainesville, GA on a Friday afternoon through hellashus ATLANTA trafic to make it to Baxter's Multisports in time to pick up our race packets. There was a Transition clinic going on when we got there so we sat in on that and learned the best way to set up and go through your transition area in a triathlon. Baxter's was a big store and had a lot of Swim equipment and bicycle stuff with a lot of running shoes to choose from. http://baxtersmultisports.com/Locals.shtml
The swim start was a Individual time trial type start. 2 at a time hung of each side of the dock and started there swim. The bike route was very hilly yet senic with a couple of great lake Lanier views.
The run was all inside Laural Park, Again with great senic views of the beautiful lake Lanier. as usual my PUMA Night Fox complete running shoes made for a pleasent run.
I rode my HARO escape Mountainbike with Full Knobbie 2.3 MAXXIS Tires. It road flawlessly as I passed several roadies on the many hills.
They used Road ID number plates with disposable timing chips embedded on them. So no strap around your ankle or worrying about losing the old style timing chip.
Beautiful Day to run in my PUMA Night Fox Complete Running Shoes!
Thanks to all who participated! Good Times Indeed. Rain Held out just long enough. Two Primroses were planted at the Thomson Factory Trail Head in honor of the Late Ronnie Thomson. Today was his Birthday. Grilled Burgers and chips Were Yummy.
